Ilovejune

DIY cement planters, target patio loveseat, urban outfitters tapestry fabric, anthropologie coasters, west elm outdoor pillow, fashioned by hanging planters.

I put myself on "anything you can wear" spending freeze (no new clothes, no jewelry, no nail polish, makeup, anything) this summer and so far (since May 23rd, so good). All of my money (and most of my creative energy) this month is going into plants & decorating the bedroom. I ordered that fabric from Urban Outfitters and turned it into curtains last weekend. They turned out rad (I'll share the full room soon!) and for the first time, our east facing windows are protected from the streaming sunlight in the mornings.

The coasters, pillow and gorgeous planters are just wishes at the moment, but they are so pretty to look at that I thought I'd include them here. The loveseat we sat in at Target a few weekends ago and decided to pull the trigger online when it was on major sale & had free shipping. It arrives next week and is going to help us get outside more (we have an upstairs patio that we've done nothing with as of yet). Bloody Mary's represent the random on the board this month because they are quickly becoming my favorite drink ever.

all images from the product sites as linked. Bloody Mary photo is my own.

Have you seen these DIY lace cement planters from FellowFellow? I love the bit of texture!

Not sure if Cali has Clamato juice, it’s tomato and clam juice mixed. We make caesars with it, like a bloody mary but spicier. I’ve seen okra, green beans, asparagus, green olives and shrimp garnishing them. Oh, so good!

If you love bloody marys you need to do caesers! Caesers are really common in Canada, and so delicious. I like ’em with gin (some do vodka), a good dash of worchestershire, extra spicy with lots of tabasco and a spicy pickled green bean or asparagus spear! Clamato is a must to make them, but I’m sure you could do tomato in a pinch, and round it out with a bit of pickle or olive juice.

I love your list. Thanks so much for posting about those little concrete planters. I am in love with those! I’ve seen them nature, and also painted a pure white in a series. Fantastic with succulents, eh. Always inspired here. Thanks!

My husband loves Bloody Marys. If you like A-1 on your steak, try a bit in your drink… or a drop or two of Chipotle Smoked Tobasco. YUMMO!
And that fabric is to die for…

I think the loveseat from Target is a fabulous idea – how nice will it be to sit on your upstairs patio and sip a fabulous drink together or read etc etc. So awesome!!

I bought that same tapestry from Urban Outfitters last month for our bed and it didn’t fit as well as I hoped. I kept it thinking I’d make it into panel curtains, so I am really looking forward to seeing how you made yours.

So funny that you have your latest installment of “I love…” up. I was coming over to tell you that there’s a Kate Spade sale on gilt.com. I am pretty sure I’ve seen a bunch of stuff of hers on other installments… b/c I totally thought of you. I love a good sale, and love sharing it even more. 🙂
The sale is by invite (beyond already registered members), but Kim from Tomkat shared the direct link to the (bags) page. There is also jewelry, etc, which when I saw I thought of you. A bangle somewhere? I dunno quite why.

That should link you to everything they have on there. Of course, this might be temptation for the nothing for me clause you’ve put into effect. I am looking at it for Christmas shopping, if that helps at all. 😉

Totally random question–but how does one create images like this? I was just playing around on pinterest looking for “what to wear” boards….and saw that there were a lot of people that created this type of thing for their clients. (Except, of course, that their objects were all clothing. Everything was still on the white background though.) I tried googling–but since I didn’t even know what these things are called–inspiration boards?–I came up with nothing. Then I remember you did one today so thought I would check. I am assuming it’s something in photoshop? Thanks for any help you can provide!
