Februarygoals

As mentioned at the beginning of 2012, I am committing to monthly goals instead of ambitious year-long ones in the hope that the stuff I choose to do is relative for what I need in the moment. January crept by at a snail's pace, which was bad for my patience but excellent for my to-do list and I got a lot done. Not everything, but almost. Part of my plan to keep this non-stressful and interesting, is no mandatory goal rollover. If it doesn't get done, and I am not too worried about it, then it's on to the next! Productivity for me is knowing when to let things go and knowing when to dive back in.

February, I love you. You're my favorite month (especially now that I live in town that refuses to celebrate winter) and I am excited for all you have in store.

And hey! Please take a second to visit my new blog sponsors on the right sidebar. I am excited to welcome back some January sponsors again and a few new faces. Lots of GOOD happening over there right now.

I think this is a great plan. Sometimes it’s hard to stick with something because, quite frankly, it gets boring and you have other ideas in store. I like the idea of just moving on, moving forward with creativity.

Oh I want to try quinoa too! We bought a HUGE bag at costco that will probably last us 3 years and we haven’t even opened it yet. Whoops.
I love your monthly goals. That’s awesome.
    Thanks for sharing!

Monthly goals – great idea! I have my yearly goals, but breaking them down into more manageable sub-goals would probably go a long way towards making my 2012 dreams come true! Haha I also loved the quinoa goal as it is also a goal of mine…seems like all of your readers agree!

Really easy really good quinoa recipe: http://pinterest.com/jessikap/droolable-foodie/#/pin/179792210093631139/ You have to google the dish on the gal’s website and then scroll down (it’s in the bottom 1/3 of the post), but it’s DELICIOUS! REALLY!

haha I love your passionate hatred toward winter 🙂 I don’t mind it myself but I think its cute that you just don’t want anything to do with it!
As for quinoa I usually use it instead of rice with a stirfry which is pretty tasty – but I’m gonna be trolling your Pinterest for more recipe ideas 😉
Finally – WHERE is that beautiful shirt from? It looks so good on you!

Love your list! I like to dry toast my Quinoa before cooking it; gives it a nice nutty flavour.

Quinoa is anything you want it to be. I sub for pastas & rice in main dishes & soups, oatmeal for breakfast, grains, etc. I think it is a pain to cook (I may be the only person who does) so I like to cook a ton of it at once and put it in the fridge. Then it’s ready to go for whatever dish I want.

I love your monthly goal posts! They inspire me to do more. I don’t like quinoa plain but I love it in things, especially veggie soup. I’m sure you’ll share something delicious and that will become my new favorite quinoa recipe, haha 🙂

“Productivity for me is knowing when to let things go and knowing when to dive back in.”
Just took a nice little sabbatical from blogging (physically and more importantly, MENTALLY). Giving myself permission to not post and not worry about it was sooo beneficial and I really do feel much more productive now that I’m back into the swing of things. I’ve done waaay more in the past two days than I have in the past month because I’ve finally latched onto this principle of letting things go and focusing on the things that make sense for now and will make the biggest impact. I used to spend too much time in the chess game thinking about my next move and wasted so much brain power that way. You’re a huge example to me of someone that takes action but keeps it realistic so thanks for always being so inspiring!

    Fabulous quinoa recipe…
cook quinoa and cool, then get the pre-cooked lentils from the refrigerator section at Trader Joes (they come in a vaccum sealed package). mix together in a bowl and add in some yellow or red tomatoe, green onion, cooked asparagus, carrots, or whatever other veggies you love. Toss with lemon juice and a little bit of salt/spices.
It’s a great cold salad – and perfect for these warm so-cal winter days! 🙂
