Comhome

A very sweet reader just sent me a link to this amazing "coming home" video. This young couple was separated for seven months just like Paul and are going to be and had their reunion filmed. I really loved it and encourage you to watch if you have seven minutes. But beware, your keyboard, shirt and face will soon be covered with tears.

Or maybe that's just me.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOkay, I got about 2 and a half minutes in and the waterworks began. I’ll have to watch the rest when I get home.
    GAH! So emotional!

No way. I’m just going to take your word for it since I’m at work and around people. 🙂 I actually found that when I saw my husband after a couple of months away that I was actually nervous!
A friend of mine with a husband in the military had her baby while her husband was away in basic training. They weren’t separated for months but he missed the birth. She had a family member film when he met his son and I lost it when I watched it.

That video was stunning. I hadn’t given myself permission to think about my husband’s homecoming yet, but now I am.. so very much am.

OH my gosh. I have tears running down my face right now. My husband also flies F-18’s and is deployed, away from me and our little 13 month old girl. I can’t wait for our homecoming, much like I know you can’t wait for your’s!!!

Thanks for the kleenex warning, Elisa. That really was AMAZING!!!! I have a friend who’s hubby is a flyboy and teaches at Oceania. This gave me a brand new perspective on what she has gone through. Wow. Thanks for sharing the love.

Love the video, it’s so cute! I was just wondering if your view on “military spouses” has changed since the last time you posted about being one. I know that for a lot of spouses of service members, a lot of times when our husbands are deployed, we’re stationed at a military base far away from family and with few friends to turn to. That’s why those groups and gatherings can be so wonderful to join, as awkward as they may be at first. Sometimes it’s hard to understand unless you’ve been through it. What do you think?
