I am trying to figure out what would be the most fun and interesting minibooks to actually make in the workshop and this is experiment number one. I have done this zig-zag binding technique before and just love it with the sewn details.

While I was in New York, I ended up taking very few photos with my camera (FAIL – I blame Irene) but did get some winners with my iPhone and the instagram app. I printed them at home (using iPhoto) and cropped them up to add images to this little book.

Great mini book, Elise! I love how you made do with iPhone photos. I love the frames for journaling. I am glad you had such a fun trip 🙂 I did a similar trip with my college girlfriends at Christmas time in NYC – and we got on the Today Show!

Love this mini book, of course! I’ve tried to make mini books in the past and have finally accepted the fact that I’m just not a scrapbooking type. So, i’ve embraced what I do enjoy which is putting together photobooks digitally. I absolutely adore instagram and recently made a book of the Pacific Northwest Roadtrip I took with my boyfriend using Blurb. It’s the perfect way to get instant gratification before I get around to editing the 1000’s of dslr photos from the trip!

I love the colors and textures of the little book, so great! You have to check out the picture book The Curious Garden. http://www.amazon.com/Curious-Garden-Peter-Brown/dp/0316015474
I read it to the kids in my library every year and we all wish we could visit the Highline.
