Sweet

I have had an amazing time in Chicago. It's a killer city and the weather right now is perfect. Not to mention, Melanie is a charming host. We spent an awkward amount of time quoting Friends, got manicures/pedicures (Essie's Fiji polish is out of hand good), ate great food (including fantastic cookies from here) and laughed a lot. We also kept up the "try new exercise classes" theme today and took a class at The Dailey Method.

I have been wanting to try this workout since I heard a friend from college was teaching it. She lives in Chicago and invited us to take her class this afternoon. It was intense. Similar to Bar in a lot of ways, but different enough that I know I'll be sore in the morning. Plus it was so fun to know the teacher. I'll be continuing with Bar Method once I am back in San Diego but I'm glad to have a new option up near Sacramento when I visit my parents.

So sweet! Early tomorrow morning we are flying to NYC, which at the moment, with Hurricane Irene crashing in, seems like a bad idea. We had lots of outdoor weekend plans that are going to be rained out, but we're excited regardless. As my friend Sara so eloquently emailed : "I don't care what we do!! I mean, one of the best times we've all had since college was the epic all day belaggio brunch, so whatevs."

True story.

Love, love, LOVE daily method in Oakland! Looks like its the same franchise in Sac. I’m curious how it differs from your bar class?
Safe travels to you and your friends in NYC. If all else fails, drink cocktails and listen to “rock you like a hurricane” while safely inside, of course!!

Thanks so much! The font looks like that in some versions of IE because of a browser bug. If you upgrade to IE9 or switch to firefox it should look normal. 🙂

Is there Dailey Method in Sacramento? I live in Sac (hi! Loved your Citizen wedding pics!) and didn’t know! That’s good—I did a Bar class when I was in LA this year and loved it.
    Enjoy NYC and be safe!

    Hey,
I’ve been following your blog since I questioned my wedding dress choice and searched for pic of a real life person wearing the same dress (actually a little hard to find. I did end up loving the gracie). Such luck – because really dig your projects and the general style of your writing.
I live in NYC. I’m really sorry that your trip here will overlap with Irene’s. I’m sure your friend knows this, but the city is advising people outside of Zone A to not leave their homes after 6 pm today, until at least 9 pm tomorrow. So it looks like we all have to tuck in and wait it out. The mayoral twitter feed has really frequent updates ( http://twitter.com/#!/NYCMayorsOffice ).
Our hurricane plans kind of reminded me of your blog, which is why I checked in. We are having a little hurricane board game night and an all-the-perishables-in-our-fridge-dinner in our hallway.
Hopefully the damage won’t be too bad, transportation will be back up on Tuesday and you’ll get to see some sites. At the very least you will have earned your stripes by being here during one of our most godzilla moments 🙂
In anycase – best wishes and stay safe.
