On our recent vacations to Hot New Orleans and Very Hot Palm Desert, the hotels each had a pretty dispenser full of fruit infused ice water available to prohibit people from passing out in the lobby.

Yesterday, determined to carry on the vacation vibe and stay hydrated, I picked up a bunch of lemons and limes to add to my own ice water. And then I figured I might as well go all out and fill up a giant pitcher to encourage the flavor infusing and to make refills all day long simple.

Paul would absolutely laugh at me (and the photos I took of the process) but he's not home so I'm rolling with it. Besides, he'd totally pour a glass or six too.

p.s. loved Angela's photo of the same idea.

p.p.s. I'm making a pitcher of strawberry infused water today.

We usually just squeeze in the lemon and/or lime as we’re ready to drink our water. BUT. I might have to try this, too, and have the water on the ready.
That old glass pitcher I’ve been hoarding will be perfect for this.

I think this is a great idea. My girlfriends and I had a girl’s tea party a couple of weeks ago, and we had strawberry water. It was refreshingly lovely. Go for it!

This has been one of my favorite go-to drinks this summer! Lemons, limes, strawberries, and oranges have all found their way into my glass! It’s a subtle and yummy twist to water! My guilty pleasure is adding two lemons to a glass and a packet of sweet and low. It’s like makeshift lemonade! ❀

Hi – This has nothing to do with water, but I was wondering if you will be making fall books similar to your summer books to sell? I missed out on making a summer book, but I love the idea of documenting a season.

I was at a salon in Chicago once that had cucumber infused water. Sounds kinda ick, but it was actually very refreshing. Love your photos!

I feel like I would drink a lot more water if it tasted good. What about blueberry and lemon together?

totally a summer essential! don’t forget to try cucumber, watermelon, mint, melons, raspberries (I like to add frozen berries or frozen peaches or frozen pineapple to keep it extra cool.) I just experiment with all the flavors and combos, and other times just keep it simple.. Cheers!

This might sound ridiculous but try tossing in cucumber slices in a pitcher of water.

HA! Really pretty pics! Try picking up a few more lemons and making your own fresh-squeezed lemonade. Strawberry lemonade and peach lemonade are my favorites!

This is a great idea – I’m totally stealing it! So did you just put 2 limes and 1 lemon in one pitcher?? Was it enough/toomuch? I want a “recipe” πŸ™‚

πŸ™‚ I actually ended up using a half a lemon and one full lime. It was perfect and got more fruity as the day went on. The best part was I managed to drink the whole pitcher by myself. Hooray for water!!

After staying at the Ritz for vacation a couple of summers ago, my husband always makes watermelon water (with mint.) I agree there is nothing more refreshing than infused water.

Very pretty. I love to do this in my pitcher just like the one you have.
They also put water out because no one drinks the tap water in the city. Or I don’t. I don’t even drink the tap water in my house, our water is filtered.
Are you planning to put up any more of the extra paper packs? I keep missing out on those.

Hi, My name is Carter and I am a 14 year old entrepreneur who is a 100% supporter of fruit infused water.
After watching β€œsuper size me”, I began to research about the negative health effects of soda and juice. Diabetes and obesity sound like terrible diseases. My mother, however, was not following this trend. She would create pitchers of water infused with fruit and drink that through out her day instead. However, when she would run out of the house, she would grab a diet coke or plastic water bottle. I asked my mom “why don’t you make spa water to go and she said she could not”
I saw the need to make a sustainable, portable version of these pitchers for people on the go. Unfortunately, the only other option for health conscious people is for them to buy plain water or plastic bottles of artificially flavored and sweetened water beverages.
Six months ago I started to create the Define Bottle. The Define Bottle is a cutting edge, glass and bamboo reusable water bottle for great tasting fruit infused water. I took the idea behind fruit infused water pitchers and made it mobile, not to mention stylish. Fortunately my parents thought it was a great idea and supported it. We just filed our patent and are getting close to production.
Fruit Infused water is great for kids too. I have 3 younger siblings and they are nuts over it!
