My holiday decorating ideas have changed a lot since my original sketches. Funny how that works. Yesterday, I used left over felt from my banner to make simple circle strands. Just turn on your sewing machine and stitch circles one after another to form a chain. I have seen these all over blogland and oh, man : SO EASY. I want to make about a million more in every color.

I have two more holiday DIYs to tackle. Hopefully this weekend after the pop-up shop.

PS : yes, that poster is from the show Dexter. We're obsessed.

I LOVE your garland! I’ve seen others that look like a machine was used to punch the circles. I prefer the non-uniform look of yours.

Sometimes I come to your blog and it seems like you’ve read my mind! I had just planned to get my sewing machine out today to make one of these circle garlands, only I was planning to make mine with paper circles (I have a circle punch). Is there a quick and easy way to cut circles out of felt?

I love the garland. I wish I could sew!! It’s awesome. Really, really what I need.

I love this. They way the light reflects off the turning felt makes it look like those capiz shell mobiles.
But I’m afraid I would tire quickly of cutting circles out of felt. Probably a square mobile would not have the same impact… 🙂

when i made mine, i punched a circle in cardstock as a guide, and then just cut around them. it went faster than i thought it would!
    love the hanging garland, elise!

so easy and simple. I did something simular last year & when I went to put it up this year it was a tangled mess… still need to make new ones.

It was super easy to just freehand cut them. I watched TV and trimmed away.

Love the gray felt and red thread.
I made one of these 2 years ago with red and green felt and it’s still one of my favorite projects to date. Can’t wait to pull it out this weekend:)

This is lovely Elise! Simple yet, whimsical.
I also wanted to thank you for the most beautiful package you sent my way when I won the giveway! I got so excited when I saw all the goodies that I immediately started working on a travel minibook to use some of the wonderful papers, labels and envelopes. Thank you!!!

I think this could also make a cool baby mobile. I know my 6 month old would like to stare at that garland 🙂

Cool! I was thinking of doing a felt circle garland myself so it’s nice to see how it (might) turn out. Nice idea to hang vertically too. Wouldn’t have thought of that!

I made some bunting a few weeks ago for my booth at a craft show, & afterward I wondered what the heck took me so long to get around to it! So easy & SO satisfying!
