There is a bar down the street from us that we go to about once a week for happy hour. In the back of the bar there is a photobooth. Every week for the last few months it has had an "out of order" sign on it.

I figured it was a pretty permenant problem, I mean, who's going to fix an old photobooth? But just in case, I always had to check.

And yesterday? It was up! And running! And demanding just $2 for a strip of photos!

So we go sit down. And of course, all we have between us in cash is one dollar.

I took the photos above of our reflection in the little camera screen. Paul was pretty sure they were just as good as the real thing.

I'm not convinced.

Next week, I'm bringing $10 in ones.

ahhhhhh, so jealous! i’m on a hunt for old b+w photobooths around here. there is one in a karaoke bar, but that’s not exactly an easy, “just pop in” spot 😉

Oh, so cute that you DIY’d your photobooth photos! I think photobooths are hard to come by these days!

Haha that is too cute!.. love that you two improvised for now but I agree, you must have a couple of photobooth pics or it just doesn’t have the same effect.

Hi Elise–this is entirely unrelated to this post (which is totally cute), but I saw on Lisa’s blog about your wedding that you had embossed your cocktail napkins. I wanted to emboss mine for my upcoming wedding, but the lady at Paper Source scolded me and said it would ruin my embosser. What did you do for this, and what weight embosser plate did you use? Thanks!

Ha! that made me laugh out loud – I used a Paper Source embosser for about 350 napkins and my embosser is doing great. I have a cover weight embossing plate. Its the same one that I used to emboss the cover of my programs. Have fun!

But, you know what Elise…this story will be so much more fun to share with your kids one day no matter how awesome the idea of photo booth photos are! I think you did the right thing…memories are priceless!
    Enjoying the class, too!

Did you know that you can make your own “photo strip?” Go to http://www.shutterfly.com/wink. It’s really cool. I did it and it comes in the cutest envelope! I think it’s only $2.50 or something like that.
