Here is what I put together with the city minibook kit + some 4×6 (cropped to 4×4) photos of our town + a few extra paper scraps which ended up being cropped sections of my 2009 calendars. I have left off a few of the spreads that show our apartment building, street name, etc. The plastic "sd" on the front are old heidi swapp ghost letters.

I would say, "I can't wait to keep adding to this" but sometimes often I fail at the continually adding. So for now, this little book is complete. I am hoping to get some business cards punched into it though. That shouldn't be too hard.

There are still kits for sale here if you are interested.

I am going to get a visitor's guide together soon that shares more info on some of my favorite places in the city so far.

So fun. I’m doing a Summer in the Life mini about our life right now…but this is next on my project list. It will be a fun adventure for my youngest and I while the others are in school {2nd grade, freshman in college}, sort of like a scavenger hunt!

Very cute. Love that it’s still a simple size to work with. I really like how you used your ghost letters for the cover/title. Wonderful mini!

Beautiful book, and I love the square shape. How long does it usually take you to put a full book together?

I’ve been hoarding my HS clear alphabet for far too long. this makes me want to use them NOW. Also love the line art (next to the floral). I’d love to illustrate my own city scape on mylar.

In love with this! So cute and perfect to look back and remember. I must try and take photos of where we live now. And when I go back home next year I am going to take photos and do the same!
Thanks Elise for the wonderful ideas! Always the best 🙂

This is so cute. Thanks for sharing.
How can I ever get mine to be that cute? I am not even living in a fancy city like San Diego – there is literally nothing here.

    I love this book!
I just moved out of Little Italy/Bankers Hill, after living there for 3+ years and just wanted to say that if you haven’t been yet, Mona Lisa Deli on the corner of India & Hawthorn is AMAZING.
I miss that neighborhood so much sometimes.

Super cool, Elise. Great job. I ordered mine and can’t wait to choose the photos I will use in it. Portland is amazing and I have a million photos of it…. deciding which are mini City book-worthy will be the only challenge! LOVE the transparency map page. I’m have some printable transparencies that I’ve been trying to think of something to do with. I think I’m going to print a map of portland on one for this project! 🙂 Thanks for the inspiration! You rock!

gorgeous – you’ve totally inspired me to get out and take some pictures of the little neighbourhood we live in (my bf and I moved a few months ago) – love this idea to capture our first house memories together!

I love Karl Strauss Red Trolley Ale… I can’t get here in Ohio – but I love that you can get it at the San Diego airport right before you go home.

loving the city mini idea! Yesterday I posted something similar on my blog; it’s a picture mini celebrating my new apartment! I plan to fill it with “scenes” around my place and ephemera from products bought for the apt!

oh, I love San Diego! my boyfriend used to live there, he went to college there and lived Downtown! you should go to Filippi’s (the one in Little Italy) and 222, a breakfast place on the corner of 3rd ave and Island ave. My favorites from the places he took me. There’s also the best fish tacos at El Zarape (not in Downtown) and Pokez, a vegan Mexican very good!

Love it!! Can I admit to living in Paris — so I would definitely have some fun stuff to work with — although no palm trees!!! Love the map transparency overlays ! May have to order a book and go to my local scrap shop – Temple du Scrap — and find a Paris map overlay!
    So fun Elise!
