For me, it's all about work surfaces and storage. So basically – A LOT of Ikea furniture.

The main table is where I do the bulk of my "crafting". Lots of paper cutting and adhering and when applicable painting and writing. Below the table are boxes of stuff – 8.5×11 paper, paint, envelopes, stamps, book cloth, ribbon, letterpress blocks and tons of arturo paper and envelopes. The table drawers hold 12×12 paper, scraps, inkpads, camera chargers … all the odds and ends.

On the table surface are my tools : paper cutters, hole punchers & stapler. And then tons more odds and ends that if I have out I am more likely to use.

The Ikea bookshelf holds my books, albums and boxes of shop items. The top surface is my prepping and shipping space. Items waiting to be boxed up, labels, etc. The small white bookshelf holds most of my packaging materials.

And the desk is where I spend most of the day. (And sometimes I am joined by Paul.)

We decided to position the desk so it juts out into the room. This way we can sit across from each other instead of against a wall. We share a printer and just pass the chord back and forth when necessary. If I am going to use my sewing machine, I just move the laptop and put the machine in its place. Right now we just have one desk chair (P is sitting on a kitchen chair) so that's on our list of things to get.

So it's pretty simple but super efficient. It works very well for me.

love this little peek into your office – and i love how you’ve got the desk floating out into the center of the room! our desk is made out of a kitchen counter-top, but i think if/when we replace it, i’d love to do something like this!

love seeing a familiar sight on your desk that’s on my desk – your fabulous “this is summer 2010” minibook and your list of to-dos book. Mine are out in plain sight (and begging for some attention) too!

beautiful! an organized yet creative space to get things done.
totally random, but i got married on 4/24 too, so it’s been fun being along for the ride (the engagement wedding honeymoon packing moving unpacking settling in- ride)… but just FYI, we got office chairs at costco! they had a $300 herman miller and a lesser but still comfortable $100 chair as well.

This is so inspiring! I can’t wait until we get a new place so that I can dig out my boxes of supplies and set up shop! For now, I shall live vicariously through you 🙂 Thanks!

I wish my craft space was so organized! It does look like that sometimes but it doesn’t stay that way for long.
Great idea for the desk! Much friendlier then facing the wall. 🙂

ooooh, this is great. my coffee table in the living room is my scrapping surface and our “office” rarely gets used. i think i need to mix it up to be more functional.

I like how you’ve organized. Those boxes seem to be key to your organization. One (or more, depending) for each different type of thing I’ll presume. I really like that desk too. I think when I get “thrown out” of my current scrap space, that is the desk I’ll need. It’ll perfectly fit all of my papers and everything else. Great space Elise!!

thank you! I use the printer for most things, but those posters because they are larger are printed professionally through an online photo developer.

Oh, I love this sneak peek! So inspiring to get a glimpse of someone else’s work set-up. I really like your work table and all the neat boxes. It reminds me to finally tackle cleaning the shelf in my back still full to the brim with diploma sketches, test prints and dummies and make space for fresh stuff 🙂 Thank you!
