wedding wednesday : rsvps + flowers.

RSVPs are "due" tomorrow. We have most of them in already. Our venue holds 180 and I think we are going to come in right around 165. I wish I had known this 5 months ago. It would have saved a little "who to invite" stress.

I placed an order with Costco yesterday for 500 yellow orange roses to be delivered the Tuesday before the wedding (April 20th). Opening those boxes is going to be interesting. I was informed by the floral lady at Costco that the colors can range dramatically. Decided to just roll with it. As long as they aren't black, we'll be fine.

We're getting to the end here. Most of the details will be sorted out by the end of this week. We're picking up our marriage license tomorrow. I'm meeting with the hair guy for a practice round tomorrow. We are picking the official menu and meeting with our pastor and piano player on Saturday.

I'm excited. 25 days.

    How exciting Elise!!!
    I also bought my wedding flowers online (http://www.amazonflowers.us/) and made all the centerpieces, bouquets and buttonieres! It was a really cool experience. I’m sure you have an army of family and friends to help you put everything together and that’s the key. Don’t forget to take photos of the flowers in their buckets after they arrive. It was a beautiful sight to see all these flowers (mine were gerbera daisies)in the middle of my living room!
    Just have your buckets, flower food, scissors and florist tape and ribbons and you’ll be ready! Enjoy and best wishes!!!!

    I know I don’t know you but I am so excited for you and Paul. Crazy that you will be married in just 25 days, time sure is flying! It seems like you just posted that you were engaged, can’t wait to see all the photos 🙂

    same here! stressed to keep the list to 185 but in the end, it looks like we’ll also be right around 165, too. just starting our seating arrangements. wheeeeee

    I ordered Costco flowers for my wedding and they turned out GORGEOUS … .
    here’s a tip: Put the flowers in water, but do NOT unwrap the paper (or whatever they have) wrapped around the actual blooms until you absolutely have to.
    Keeping the blooms from opening as long as you can will keep them prettier on the wedding day itself…

    I can tell you from experience that you have to roll with it when you do your own flowers. My experience was definitely one to remember, but it was SO much cheaper than going with a florist. We ended up with a couple of headaches and $2000 dollars in our wallets instead of the florist’s!

    i just tried it on this past weekend. i love it and will be sharing photos after the rehearsal dinner. 🙂 fits pretty true to size. if you are between sizes, go smaller.

    Wow, you are getting close to it all now! Congratulations and I wish you much success and no stress!! Although this is a big day, enjoy it all so much and remember that it is just a day and your marriage will be so much more than this one day (but you already know all this!). Now, that all being said, it’s still a really fun and important day – rock those details girl, as I know you will. So can’t wait for the play by play! You so have the right attitude! Enjoy…Yay 🙂
