I got an email from a blog reader named Alexandra last weekend. She was interested in having cards printed that could serve as table numbers at her July wedding. She wanted folded cards with the number on the front and then a space inside for guests at each table to write an anniversary message. The cards would be saved by the bride's family and then mailed to the new couple on each anniversary. EXAMPLE : everyone at table seven signs a card that the couple opens on their seventh wedding anniversary.

I loved the idea and told Alexandra I might just have to do the same for my own wedding. I printed up a few samples last night and am happy with how they turned out. The cards are 5×7 and after they sit on tables will be tucked into gray A7 envelopes. I like that the cards are graphic and simple. I love that we'll get to read little messages from our favorite people every year.

Thank you, Alexandra for a fantastic idea. I hope you enjoy your set.

Just 73 days! And one more detail checked off the list.

What an idea…and you with your wonderful execution of the idea. My daughters are way too young to even think about weddings, but I am printing this out as a happy thought for their special day!

What a sweet idea. I was wondering… what happened with your first plan for table numbers? The one where you cross stitched each number?

had to give that one up. It wasnt fitting with the look of the wedding and it was terribly hard. 🙂

That is the cutest idea. Maybe later on you can make a little scrapbook out of the cards you get each year.

What a wonderful idea. Wish that I had done that for my wedding, almost 4 years ago. I plan to share this with my sister-in-law who is getting married next May.

that’s a great idea! I love ideas that are easy simple and meaningful — and what a lovely way to reconnect with loved ones from your special day. Can you imagine how wonderful it would be to send each signer a little note after you’ve read their message? Such a personal, thoughtful gift that keeps on giving!

brilliant idea and i love that it’s double-purpose! it’s also not at all difficult to do which makes it even better. just wanted to ask about printing, how did you manage to print right off the edge of the paper?

Just curious- did you put pens on the table too, or just hope someone had one at each table?
