Finally. That took longer than I thought it would. And like many projects, I got halfway into it and thought, "Is this right?" "Is this how I want it to look?" But now that every page is complete and I hope every link is linked, I am pretty happy with the new site.

I said earlier that I wanted something simple where I could store all of my on going projects, like workshop information, custom books, etc. I added a section about minibooks and a catalog of most of my collection. Right now, you can click each book to see the front cover. Eventually, I want each book to be listed in it's entirety so every page can be flipped through. I think  I need a little bit more HTML training though so I am not creating an entire web page per book page.

On the workshops page, I mentioned a new month long class I am developing for September called, The Visual Adventure. I am pretty excited for it and will be keeping you posted.

AND OF COURSE, a giveaway.

Please take a second to browse the site and check for bugs, broken links, spelling errors, grammar issues, wonky photos, etc. I have only checked it out in firefox and safari so it is probably upside down and backwards in internet explorer. If you see an error or two, leave them in the comments so I can make edits. If you don't want to check for issues and just want to win, you can just leave a comment with your favorite font. (I am currently a big fan of this one.) I will be choosing three winners at random tomorrow morning. One will get a handbound book (not custom, but still cool). One will get a mixed paper journal. And one will get an envelope full of letterpress + pretty paper.

    As mentioned, it would be nice to be able to flip through (I might know someone who could help with the html), otherwise, it’s really nice and there were no other errors. Great work. Way to provide inspiration to all of us. Keep being crafty!

    I’m terrible at spelling and grammar so I can’t help there but I got the same shop error message. All the other links seemed to go where they said they would.
    My latest fun font is Sister Frisky. http://new.myfonts.com/fonts/chank/sister/ It’s an energetic font!
    I realized it’s what Scentsy http://www.scentsy.net/ seems to have used and that’s pretty neat.

    The new site looks great! I love the simple design with the photos and the mouseover to the orange links. I only had a chance to click through quickly since I’m at work, but I didn’t notice any bugs.

    I love your site, so much eliseart there =), it’s all a bit slow, for example when i move over the pictures, some of them aren’t changing into the orange one with the text. but anyways, it’s so great =).

    I love the site and this blog and all your mini books! Can’t wait to see the insides. And I have just asked my mum for a personalised journal as a Christmas present even though it’s only July!
    My favourite font is Arial. It’s a bit boring, but it’s the only one I can read properly without having to find my glasses first :s

    Looks great Elise! I particularly love how the orange type is easy to read and feels so refreshing. The bright balloon polaroids are the best! love em!
    I don’t have a favorite type, but I like to handwrite in ALL CAPS. with sharpie markers.

    Hi Elise! Love the new site, simple, clean, pretty. All the photos really add up to the site, and they load super quick, so that’s a plus. I couldn’t find any errors, looks more than fine to me (I use Firefox).

    awesome site, elise! easy to navigate and great colors of course.
    i am at work and have IE. i have to say my favorite part of the site is where you list all the minis you’ve done. however, on some of them, instead of being able to see a large photo i see a tiny one.
    i tried to link to show the difference but when i clicked the links it then took me to the large photo. does that make sense? maybe it’s just me/my browser.

    great site! I can’t wait to see all your mini books documented too.
    My fav font of late is SignPainter – HouseCasual (that’s how it appears verbatim in my “font book”). Hubby is an illustrator and graphic designer, so we have a lot of terrific fontsm to choose from, but I love this one.

    This is a beautiful new site!
    In your FAQ section, when you answer “What is Your Job?,” after your resume link it reads: “I am very blessed to have a flexible and work schedule.”
    Either a qualifier is missing after “and,” or the “and” should be taken out altogether.
    Also, there are a few sentence fragments scattered throughout the site, but I figured you were keeping those to mimic a casual speaking style.

    I checked for mistakes, but I think you did a pretty good job of self-editing!
    In terms of favorite fonts… I like Little Days: http://www.dafont.com/little-days.font. There isn’t an attached README file or anything, so it’s free to use for private and commercial use. I used it in my etsy store banner. 🙂

    Wow! Nice job! Lots of things to browse through, and nice and clean, and very Elise!
    Someone else mentioned that the pictures on the various pages loaded a bit slow, and I had that happen as well (I’m in firefox 3, which good internet connection). Maybe they are a bit bigger than they need to be?
    Favorite font: http://www.dafont.com/breastbomb.font. It’s becoming part of my branding I guess.

    Oh my gosh you have so many comments already! Loot at how proud of you we all are! I’m so impressed! You have a ton of pages and they all have great content and great design! I didn’t see any errors, the functionality is superb, and I love how you can update the photos on the side as time goes by. The only thing I could suggest, if you haven’t heard about it already, is Lightbox (http://www.huddletogether.com/projects/lightbox2/)for the pages where you show all the pages in your books? Basically it just makes it easy to scroll through all the images in order, without going back and clicking on the next one. I have it on my portfolio site (www.mholshev.com) if you want to see how it works. You can use the arrow keys on your keyboard to go through the images. It’s a pretty simple javascript. Anyway…long comment, sorry.
    My favorite font right now is Mr. Sheffield, I bought it on Veer and I looooove it. But i’ve been doing all this western stuff lately for commissions and I’m kind of in love with Mesquite Std. too.

    The site is wonderful! Only tiny thing I’ve found so far is that on the FAQ page under what is letterpress? the last sentence should read “when it comes to WHAT prints I want to make.” Right now it says “want prints I want to make.” 🙂

    The site looks great! I read through a lot of it and I didn’t see any errors and I tend to notice things like that. I might suggest adding more photos to your projects section in time, but it looks great now! I love the design. It is very easy to navigate!
