A while back I saw a wedding on Snippet & Ink where the bride cross-stitched her table numbers. The wedding stayed in my head and I think I want to do something similar. I realize this is a little crazy – I don't have a reception venue and I don't even know how many tables we will have.

But, this spring, cross-stitching is the new knitting. And I am excited to have a new project.

I am making up the pattern as I go. I stamped (it's a Martha Stewart stamp from Michael's) the orange seven on graph paper and I am tripling the number of boxes as I stitch onto the cloth. I'll keep you posted.

you go, girl. my wedding will be craft-a-licious too someday. :] My mom is an avid cross-stitcher so this would be a brilliant idea!

Mom new you were a crafter when you were 2 years old. You saw Mom’s cross stitch stuff in an organized box. You waited for her to leave the room. You got it all out and unwound all the thread and tangled it all up in a ball. A very pretty ball. Dad

That is the most fabulous idea … such a nice touch and you really don’t need your venue sorted, just your colour scheme and it seems to me that you have that nailed.

I think I’ll stick with the old knitting – ya know, knitting? I have one cross-stitch thing that I was going to do… oh, 10 years ago… that never got started. Oops.

i am so not a cross-stitcher, but would it be possible to just stamp the fabric and stitch over that?
