Not really. Really what I did was put on a skirt and flip flops and went to Eastern Market in downtown DC. We got lost and then got scones and then tracked down the mythical Letterpress Man that I had heard so much about. (Julie, get a blog.)

He had type upon type upon type. All very old. Some wood, mostly lead. All very cool. I bought more EE's and B's to improve on my alphabet. And an "&" because I love them. And a "C" because it's the start of Paul's last name. The Letterpress Man is going to try to track down a working Chandler & Price letterpress for me from a guy in Ohio. I am not going to hold my breath but I will cross my fingers.

Oh, FEBRUARY. Thank you for this unexpected beautiful weather. Oh, DC. Thank you for having cool enough areas and fantastic enough buildings to keep me off the next flight home to Cali. Oh, Paul. Thank you for driving me on wild goose chases.

Good day, yesterday. Good day.

yes, thank for the nice weather! I am in DC for business and it is a nice change, though still a bit nippy for me, than the two blustry/bitter cold weeks I came the past two years. BRRR!

I love the work you do, you’re so creative! I can’t recall how I came across your blog, but I’ve been keeping an eye on it for some time now. I LOVE letterpress! In fact, it was the manager of my local Paper Source who encouraged me to get one and I finally did. They’re not that easy to locally come by in the Pacific Northwest (I’m from the Seattle area).
I’m going to D.C. next month and was wondering if you could share any places to see regarding letterpress. Maybe the location of the mythical “Letterpress Man”? Or any museums to see, classes, whatever.
I’m also planning on seeing some places that might exhibit different handwritten documents, manuscripts as I’ve been studying calligraphy and decorated letters more and more.
Anyway, I know you’re from California, but if you know of some D.C. must see’s I’d love to hear about them via e-mail, your blog, whatever! Feel free to e-mail me. I’d love to talk with you!
