I shared this one last year but it is worth another go around. Peppermint cookies are my favorite holiday food. Next to mashed potatoes.
You can make them with starlight peppermints but a box of candy canes will work perfect in December. I crushed mine in a ziplock bag with the bottom of a mug – works like a charm.
enJOY it

Here’s hoping some of those make it to the store on Benihana Christmas…

Every year I go ALL OUT for the Christmas baking. Oatmeal cookies are my thing. In every variety imaginable; apple and white chocolate, cranberry-apricot, dark chocolate butterscotch…everyone has their favorite. I bake for DAAAAYYSS!
Last year I made these as a last minute treat for our family gift exchange party and to give to some of my dorm friends. They were an absolutle HIT!! They’ve been requested this year by several of the lucky recipients from last year. The recipe is quick, easy. inexpensive and DELICIOUS so I can’t complain that every is forgoing my tradition oatmeal cookies for this tasty new favorite.
Thanks for sharing this culinary jem!
( Ps. Ikm glad I’m not the only one who blogs at such ungodly hours. Everyone always comments on my 2 am posts! Nicely done. Haha)LikeLike

they rock the house and then some.

Don’t know if you get this years later, but I have always chosen candy canes when I needed crushed peppermint. Solely because the percentage of stripe to white is better-for prettiness. (At this time of year I bet canes are cheaper too)
