enJOY it

an archived personal and craft blog from Elise Blaha Cripe.

Rough last couple of days. Missing Paul + setbacks at work + humid weather = not much sleep and too many tears.

Ugh.

But last night was good. Paul + I decided that it is important for us to start eating dinner at the table and talking for that half hour instead of watching TV. It is a small step that I think is going to make a big difference. Taking advantage of the little time that we have together between my odd schedule and him spending nights at the hospital.

I feel quite like a grown-up.

Today and tomorrow are going to be a little retreat for me. I have a to-do list of good things: art journaling, clothes shopping, greeting card shopping & polaroid shooting.

Wonderful priority when it comes to eating a sit down dinner. Also try taking melatonin if you’re having trouble sleeping. It regulates your internal clock instead of taking sleeping pills that drug you up! I use it when I have jet lag or haven’t been sleeping well.

Definitely good to be bringing dry eyes back. 🙂
Love the bottom page. Is the quote letterpressed? Or just stamped? …?
How are the geese? The “babies” in our neighborhood are so big that I can hardly tell the difference between them and the adults anymore. I love watching them (from a safe distance so they can’t attack me.) 😛

Dude. The eating together it GOOD. Just before Dan and I got married – we threw out our TV. It makes a world on difference in productivity AND in closeness. These days, we take the kid + dog for a hike so we can talk about our days and get back in sync – while being active. We make a lot of time for eachother and it pays off. Go for love.

Yo, any chance you’re gonna start doing, like, wedding-related letterpress stuff? Can I get on that phone tree for when/if that happens?

i locked onto the “grownup” word in your post – but it’s really just good sense, right? time together no tv …
and i’m with the other commenters that the art journal stuff you’re doing is wonderful – love the direction, not all new or all different, but definitely all cool! thank you for sharing!

I am sorry you are sad. Missing boyfriends is always really, really hard : ( And I think I read somewhere that eating together bonds families/friends, so way to go!
