enJOY it

Img_8847I do not know if I was delirious or blind last night, but turns out my little paper flower made it home.

I will try to get a photo of the whole display up soon.

Today’s first mission was to find very thin wood to letterpress on in my last class tomorrow. Google led me to here. But I have no idea how to get to their retail location. Or how to understand the information presented on their website. So instead I went to Home Depot. Now, not only does every single Home Depot employee think I am completely crazy, but I am also the proud owner of a roll of woodgrain patterned contact paper. Which is exactly NOT what I was looking for.

(But cool, none the less.)

Today’s second mission is to hydrate. As in consume over a gallon of water. I woke up today and could feel the blood slooshing like mud through my veins (Paul says the technical term is "venous stasis"). Bottom line, I feel sluggish and dried out and water is just the answer.

Ka-Bam.

Are you looking for balsa wood or veneer? A big box craft store should have balsa usually by where the model car kits are-with dowels. You know, the boy craft area. :o) I don’t know if big box home improvement store have veneer or if you would need to go to lumberyard or “boutique style” woodworking store.

look through your yellow pages under hardwood stores / specialty wood stores (or something similiar) – if it’s a shop that specializes in wood, they should have a beautiful range of veneers. where i live, there’s a place called OP Hardwoods that would be along the lines of the type of place to look for – they’re only local, but that type of store should have what you need. there’s a crazy amount of beautiful wood out there, i had even thought about it until reuben started getting into woodworking!
grizzly industrial is a nation-wide place that carries packages of veneer – they only have three retail locations, but if you can’t find any other store near you, they have a massive catalog. something like this? http://grizzly.com/products/Domestic-Exotic-Veneer-Variety-Pack-20-sq-ft-/H9802
