enJOY it

an archived personal and craft blog from Elise Blaha Cripe.

At Caribou again. The new Wednesday tradition. I feel like every time I come here, I end up sitting by two people engaged in an interview. And not a Caribou Coffee interview, but a super intense "I can contribute to your companies structure" / "I am good with sensitive information" / "I am fluent in HTML" interview. I like to listen to the interviewer as much as the interviewee. They often seem nervous. A good note to self: If you are interviewing for a job and the person interviewing you does not appear confident…you do not want the job.

Right?

I made more ornaments last night. Little musical ones. I have big plans for more. And also big hopes to stock my etsy shop with goods soon. Super Paper Goods. I know how lame it is to enter a shop without product. In fact, I think the very first rule of owning a shop is having it stocked. I think probably Steve Jobs would agree with me. And also Oprah and Martha Stewart. And also the people in charge at Target. I think that is something I will remember to say if I ever have an important interview. Relevant or not, it should just be said.

Right?

Yesterday, I unpacked books at work. And as I was shelving them, I wanted to buy them. Because they are Logs. Not for running on or burning in your fireplace, but for tracking information. And I am a large supporter of lists, spreadsheets and all things trackable. I could create my own little world out of these books. See them all here.

Cool, right?

(The interview is still going on. I cannot make much sense of it. Another educational note to self: eliminate run-on sentences whenever possible and remember, it is okay to say: "Hmm, great question. Let me think about that for a second.")

Project Runway starts tonight. This is sort of like opening day in Baseball. Or the first day of school. Or the first day of the rest of our lives. I hope for an exciting cast. I hope for amazing outfits. I hope our DVR is set.

My letterpress/screenprint collection is growing. Tomorrow I have plans to buy frames for the new lovelies and extend my wall. As soon as I do, I will share links, facts, photos and many more interview tips.

Love and .com’s until then.
