three things i like about myself.

Kal wants us to list Three Things That We Like About Ourselves. And since that lady can paint me into a corner and because one time she said I was really funny, I figured I should do it.

  1. I admit when I am wrong. I do. Sometimes it happens immediately. Sometimes it happens at my next dentist appointment. Sometimes I hold a grudge for way too long, and we both feel extremely awkward for years. But always, I will eventually say: "Hey. You were right, I was wrong. I am sorry."
  2. I have found really good friends. I hope this one counts because it is sort of about me, but sort of not. I was looking though photos on facebook, trying to find a good photo of myself to post today, and I was reminded of so many good times that we have had. Of how real my friendships are, both from USC and from Sactown. And it made me happy and grateful and everything good.
  3. I like that many days of the week I do not put on makeup and I feel totally fine. Wonderful, even.

It is time to go get dressed and do something super cool with my day. I am thinking about going to buy rings at Forever 21.

    I LOVE #3. Probably because I can relate. I hardly wear makeup. Why? Because I’m a firm believer that 1. It ages you and 2. I don’t like it. I only feel 10% better with it on, so why bother for a few extra percentage points?

    good for you. your list is a nice one. especially the part about saying you’re wrong, when you are. that takes a serious amount of guts. and so does this whole dentist action.

    Not everyone can admit when they’re wrong (um, i’m always right)- that’s a great thing!
    And I never wear makeup, either – glad to see there are others out there like me. 🙂 I can’t stand the stuff (mostly).

    Three things I like about Elise: 1 – you’re funny and light hearted and that is something people seem to lose as they grow older. Never lose that. Nurture this. Your life and vigor inspires those around you. Let me tell ya! 2 – You’re honest. Actually, I don’t know if this is true, but it feels like your posts are genuine and heartfelt. I like that about you. It draws people to you. 3 – you are SO BRAVE for making so many trips to the dentist. Triple arm pump for you because I get so stressed at the dentist I nearly stroke out and die.

    Something I like about Elise:
    She will stare, totally enraptured, at the graffiti artist while in Las Vegas and compare him to Jose the gold-toothed kitchen helper — because “dude, he fixed the pipe with his bare hands”
