Sat down today in my Strategic Management Class, my last ever business course and the last class I need to graduate, and was immediately reminded why Business School has messed up my life. Chatter. Everywhere. About who interned where, and who has a job where, and how so-and-so has started working for Ernst, Chuck, Tabitha, McDonald Inc. Group. And yada, yada, yada, yada. And I just wanted to plug my ears. Because it is chatter that took me off my own path. My own search for the ideal career. My own passions.
Fortunately, this semester, I am able to recognize and dismiss the chatter.
I have learned a lot in 3.5 years. Lesson one: Cultivate a strong sense of self.
