enJOY it

With a Big Boss today.  The guy who oversees about 50 Target stores on the west coast.  It was like I was in a business class.  Only it was real life.  Only he was talking about real stock.  And real time.  And all the while he was delivering real customer service.  I barely understood the jargon everyone used.  But I smiled and I nodded.  And I paid attention.  Real attention.  I wanted to absorb everything being said. 

So impressed.  So impressed with how retail works.  With how jobs get done and stock gets sold and companies make money.  There are real brains behind this stuff.  And it is so cool to listen to the brains talk.  To not understand exactly, but understand the passion.  I am going to gain so much information by listening and focusing and asking questions.

Also spoke with one of the Execs in my store today.  I have been asking almost everyone where they want to go with Target.  She wants to eventually get into Media/Marketing side at corporate.  My plan.  So cool to see someone going there.  To realize the path exists.  To realize that I am on the path.

So difficult to give up the do-nothing-lifestyle I so expertly crafted these past few weeks.  So difficult to cultivate a new routine.  Am glad that my new routine is challenging.  That it encourages growth.  That it is going to demand and expand thought.
